Aalestrup Elektro achieves ISO 9001 certification
2025-05-07
A step towards even higher quality and safety
Founded in 1957, Aalestrup Elektro has long been a trusted provider of electromechanical services in northern Jutland. With over 20 employees, the company handles repairs, rebuilds and construction of motors, gears, pumps, fans, hand tools, automation and auto electrics.

One of their core competencies is ATEX repairs – servicing electrical equipment used in explosive environments such as chemical plants, oil and gas facilities, or food production. These repairs are governed by the EN 60079-19 standard, which requires certified skills, specialized tools and full traceability in documentation. Crucially, it also mandates a quality management system equivalent to ISO 9001 – a certification Aalestrup Elektro has now officially obtained.
Expertise in explosive environments
ATEX repairs at Aalestrup Elektro are handled with precision and full traceability. Before any repair, the team carefully reviews each unit against original documentation. All observations, test results, and visual inspections are recorded, and comprehensive quality checks are performed to ensure full compliance with applicable safety standards.
This thorough approach minimizes risks and guarantees that repaired equipment can safely return to explosive environments without compromising operational safety. It also offers customers full peace of mind, knowing that every repair is documented and traceable.

– Working according to ISO 9001 gives us a structured approach to everything from work intake and documentation to execution and final testing. It ensures consistent quality and builds trust with our customers, says Simon Bøgelund, Project Manager at Aalestrup Elektro.
Aiming higher for the future
For Aalestrup Elektro, the ISO 9001 certification is not the finish line – it’s the beginning of further development. The company is already exploring additional certifications related to sustainability and environmental standards, as well as pursuing future ATEX authorizations under new regulations.
– We’re always looking to improve. Strengthening our internal processes and technical capabilities means we can continue to provide safe, efficient and high-quality solutions to our customers – now and in the future, Simon concludes.
