Certification strengthens trust in Nordic Drives Group Söderhamn

What the ELR certification means in practice
The ELR certification helps ensure that high standards are met consistently and offers peace of mind to customers who rely on safe and high-quality repairs.
To become a certified workshop, at least one team member must be a certified electromechanical technician – a status that requires years of experience, documented training and a willingness to keep learning. For Patrik Holm, CEO and electromechanical technician at Nordic Drives Group Söderhamn, this is a renewal of a diploma he’s held for over a decade.
– Even after 40 years in the industry, I find there’s always something new to learn. The repetition course gave me new perspectives and reminded me how valuable it is to follow a shared standard across the field, he says.

To earn the diploma, technicians must complete courses such as motor theory, bearing technology and electrical safety, and have at least five years of documented industry experience.
The certification also includes requirements on the workshop level: documented work routines, test protocols and final inspections must all follow ELR’s industry standards. In short, it ensures that every repair meets clear expectations from quality to safety and environmental impact.
Investing in skills and collaboration
At Nordic Drives Group Söderhamn, professional development is a clear priority. Team members are encouraged to keep learning – both through formal courses and by connecting with others in the industry.
– It’s not just about the training itself. During these courses, you meet colleagues from other companies, share experiences and learn from each other. That kind of knowledge exchange is incredibly valuable, Patrik says.

A seal of trust – internally and externally
While certifications like this are important from a customer’s perspective, they also create a sense of structure and security internally.
– We know that when we follow the right routines, we can stand behind the work we deliver. And that reduces the risk of deviations or missed steps, Patrik says.
From a group-wide perspective, the certification strengthens Nordic Drives Group’s position as a trusted total partner for electromechanical services – showing customers that quality is more than a promise. It’s a process, embedded in every step.
