Jowic Elteknik in collaboration with Power Up Ukraine
2025-02-28
At Jowic Elteknik, part of Nordic Drives Group, big decisions don’t always start with grand strategies. Sometimes, they begin with a simple thought over a coffee. During a casual conversation, colleagues reflected on the urgent need for power in Ukraine and realized they had a generator on-site that wasn’t being used much. Instead of letting it sit idle, they decided to put it to better use.

From an idea to a real impact
That conversation quickly turned into action. Within a short time, Jowic Elteknik had connected with Power Up Ukraine, a non-profit initiative run by Vasakyrkan in Kalmar that delivers energy solutions to war-affected areas.
The first donation was a 500 kVA generator – large enough to power a small hospital – which was handed over to Power Up Ukraine through their logistics partner, Filippushjälpen. Transporting equipment into a war zone is no simple task, but thanks to a well-established network of volunteers and transporters, the generator made its way to Kharkiv, where it is now used for mobile power supply.

Jowic Elteknik later had the opportunity to contribute even further. Through the same collaboration, they provided an additional five generators – four new units of 160 kVA and one used 220 kVA unit. These were delivered to hospitals in Kyiv and Kharkiv, as well as a community shelter in Berichew.

An initiative powered by collaboration
This donation was made possible through the combined efforts of multiple organizations. Power Up Ukraine has worked tirelessly to deliver power solutions to Ukraine. The transportation was handled by Filippushjälpen, ensuring the generators reached their destinations safely.
Our team at Jowic Elteknik is one of many companies that have stepped in to support the initiative, proving that even a small idea, born from a casual conversation, can lead to meaningful action.
